At Step #3 Straw is supposed to spawn at penninsula east of Tir Na mBeo in Lough Derg near 33k 44k during the day.
At Step #5 Straw is supposed to spawn near dead tree and boulder in Lough Derg near 27k 61k during the night.
He instead only now spawns day or night at Step #3 location and if you are on step #3 killing him does not update quest log or drop head. If at Step #5 he drops head.
1. Obtain quest from Odharnait in Ardagh.
2. Attempt killing him at step 3
3. It won't work at designated area, he instead spawns at 10:30 am game time at tree s giant version) and runs away from there and respawns at penninsula.
4. That will activate step 4. Return TO Odharnait for step that will tell you to go to tree, he's not there.
5. Go to penninsula and kill him, he gives head.
The daytime spawn should be at penninsula and e should run from there to tree. then the quest should send you to Odharnait then back to tree to kill giant straw. it's backwards right now.
The quest log will tell you what should be. Attempting the quest as I've documented will show you what is.
