Description

I made a video trying to get into Albion as a Midgard Skald and when I got through I blew up. Uthgard currently has a few methods to prevent players from invading other realms:

1) Each Border Keep has a wall around it that instantly kills a player if they are not from the correct realm.

2) If you are not in the correct realm and cross into another zone you will be ported back to your home city.

3) You can't enter enemy instance dungeons as you will get an error saying invalid zone and denied entry.

4) Logging out in enemy territory causes you to teleport back.

DAOC did NOT have these custom changes. If they found a player who hacked into there they would be banned. If they found a player that accidently got through they would be teleported back. You guys have killed the dream that many of players have and may have wanted to do someday which is getting as many players as possible and try to run through. The only reason this was an issue back in the day was that a new player may have a bad experience if they got ganked in Camelot Hills by some big bad troll and had no idea what was going on; however, this is not the case here on Uthgard. We all know what this game is about and would jump at the chance of fighting off a zerg of intruders to protect their own realm. There is NO harm in this at all and would do nothing but enhance our experience here and make an amazing story if it every happened.

Reproduction Steps

Try to go into another realm. I used this method (and reported it)

I was testing exploits when I figured out these preventative measures were placed in. The method I used in the video would be considered an exploit and a player who uses this technique should face consequences after launch but why punish everybody?

I also found out about the other measures set in place during the speed buff stacking glitch.

Intended Behavior

These are custom changes and should not be here. I know that if somehow all these players got through removing them would be a hassle BUT you could leave in the measure that prevents a player from logging out in another realm as a way to automate removing people once the chaos has settled. Blue has mentioned they will discuss removing these measures but has not mentioned anything since.

"We will talk about the barrier removal internally. As long as you can glitch through walls I see no other possibility though. Defenses will be reviewed." - Blue

Like I said, if a player GLITCHES, or uses an exploit to get through he should face consequences for their actions but there is NO need to punish everybody. Please don't kill the dream.

Evidence

Uthgard staff has placed these in and it was stated by the staff here.
