When doing the epic quest line with my Ranger I encountered the following bug:
Quest "Secret of Nuada's Silver", step #17, requires you to kill four Young Irewood to receive their Irewood Sap.
I killed lots of Young Irewood around loc 18k 27k in Connacht but received no Irewood sap at all.
Then out of curiosity I started killing the Irewood Saplings that spawn at the same location --- these finally gave me my Irewood Sap.
1. Create a Ranger (or probably any Hibernia class following the Path of Concentation --- I only tried Ranger though)
2. Make all the epic quest line until you reach step #17 of "Secret of Nuada's Silver"
3. Check your quest journal: It will tell you to kill Young Irewood to receive their Irewood Sap
4. Kill young Irewood and notice that you do not get any Irewood sap at all
5. Now kill Irewood Sapling and notice that these do give Irewood Sap in contradiction to what the quest journal says
as I do not know what exactly is broken there are several possible ways to fix the bug:
a) fix the quest journal to show "Kill Irewood Sapling"
OR
b) fix the Young Irewood to provide Irewood Sap and the Irewood Sapling to not provide Irewood Sap
OR
c) check if the population of Young Irewood and Irewood Sapling is correct; maybe the Irewood Saplings _should_ be Young Irewood and are classified as such internally but do show the wrong mob name
Whether a) or b) or c) applies I leave to the staff.
Quest journal tells me to kill Mob A to receive a certain quest item.
In fact it is Mob B that provides me with the said item.
Hence there is a conflict between quest journal and game world --- and that is what I call a bug.
