I played a Sorceror wielding a "Sorcerer Slender Ebony Staff" with level 43 direct damage proc.
In melee the proc damages and sometimes scores a critical hit.
I do not yet have other weapons, reactive procs or characters to test this.
1. Be a Sorceror with DD proc weapon
2. Melee a monster until the proc goes off
3. wait for critical hits
Direct Damage Procs should not cause critical damage.
Unfortunately no official document.
I have searched a lot in the www and could not find any hint of critical hits with procs.
