1455: Pally Ward Chants Fire Mechanism Bugged

Description

Firing any two Ward resistance chants consecutively is bugged.

Normally, if a pally has an active chant and fires a second, different chant, the first one deactivates and the second one activates. If a pally fires a chant and then clicks the same chant, it will cancel that chant's effect.

If you have any Ward resistance chant active, and attempt to fire another, different Ward chant, the first is cancelled, but the second does not activate. You have to click the second chant twice (to cancel the first Ward, and then to activate the second).

For example: If you have Heal chant active, then click Endo chant, Heal chant is cancelled and Endo begins. If you have Cold Ward active, and then click Mind Ward, it cancels Cold Ward but doesn't activate Mind Ward. You'd have to click Mind Ward twice (first to cancel Cold, then to activate Mind).

This is true for all the resistance Ward chants, but only if fired in succession. If you have a Ward active and click any non-Ward chant, it functions properly.

Reproduction Steps

1. Make a Paladin with level 30+ chants.
2. Activate any Ward resistance chant (e.g., Heat Ward).
3. Activate a different Ward resistance chant (e.g., Body Ward).
4. Notice that the first Ward ('Heat') is cancelled, but the second ('Body') is not active. Also notice the system message reading 'You cancel your effect.'

Intended Behavior

Paladins should be able to twist between Ward resistance chants the same way they do other chants. The mechanic should be consistent.

Evidence

I played a Paladin for a while, and asked other Paladins on /as, and they agree this is abnormal behavior for the chant mechanic.
